Amen. Great point. I am watching from the US and yes they mention Senegal, but they also talk about Africa. They reminded us that in Russia four years ago, no African team moved to R16. So each African team has to be encouraged and prayed for to progress. After this WC, hostilities can sytart again. We still have AFCON ahead.
Senegal just won by 2 goals to 1, coached by Aliu Cisse, a Senegalese. Ghana trounced Korea yesterday also coached by Addo, an indigenous coach.
Nigeria FA please give Emmanuel Amuneke this job (not co-head with another indigenous coach). Amuneke has a UEFA coaching licence and has been tested (Unlike Eguavoen).
Please save our scarce foreign exchange and sack Pasero. Keshi qualified little Togo for World Cup in 2006, won AFCON for Nigeria in 2013. Amuneke can do it!
SE problem now is not the coach. The players are mediocre, no credible midfielder, particularly on the creative side- and a shambolic NFF.
The coach need to look for fresh legs particularly from our decent U20 Flying Eagles to replace most of the deadwoods in SE.
I disagree with you! Eguavoen doesn’t have what it takes to coach the Super Eagles, you can’t give what you don’t have.
When Ghana came to Abuja for the return leg, in the second half, Ghana turned defensive, took out an attacker and brought in a defender (making 5 at the back), Osimhen quickly told the coach by the sideline to change tactics telling him Ghana just just had just added another man at the back but our coach had no clue.
At the Afcon, Tunisia clipped our wing man (Moses Simon) but our coach Eguavoen, again, had no clue. What he knows or been taught is wing play with no clue to counter that if your opponent exploit your tactics.
So I don’t agree with you sir, Super Eagles problem is the coach not the players who are all professionals.
Rohr is still being owed salaries even after getting sacked. Pinnick seemed to be heel bent on appointing Peseiro claiming Mourinho recommended him. Now we learn that Peseiro was the third choice! If NFA could not afford to pay the first and second choice coaches, they could have given the job to a Nigerian until they can afford to pay for a better foreign coach. Amuneke played and won wit established foreign clubs, and has UEFA coaching qualifications, coached Tanzania to AFCON, and if he was Amunek or another foreign sounding name, NFA would have been rushing to appoint him coach, but alas, he is named Amuneke. Finidi George is another worthy coach but doesn’t have the same accomplishments as Amuneke. Sunday Oliseh is another coach seriously worthy of consideration. He probably won’t let NFA dictate who miust play to him. Siasia unfortunately is banned but would have been a worthy candidate. The point is that Nigeria is blessed with enough coaches to take us higher. These coaches understand Nigerian style and expectations. With the present coach, we don’t know what style he is using especially when it comes to teams outside Africa. I wish I was rich enough to pay for the salary of a Nigerian coach who should be given time to come up with World beaters. In this WC, teams are using 18-19 year old players but Nigeria is afraid to put Akinkumi Amoo to show what he is capable of. Another exciting player is Yira Sor, and we need to start seeing these young players. Peseiro, wake up and tell us what you plan to do with the Nigerian team and what style we can expect going forward. Thanks.
As am happy for Ghana and Senegal progression am equally sad that the giant of Africa is still sleeping and if nothing changes these nations will leave Nigeria behind. We need a new trajectory otherwise we are doomed as a nation. Not all blames should be accorded to the Nff or coaches our players too are lazy proud and undisciplined. They are not patriotic and they play as if they are doing the nation a favour.. we can see the determination of these Ghanians and Senegalese players. Honestly speaking Pocknic needs to be in jail

It wasn’t any soft penalty! The Senegalese player was heading towards the ball and gotta obstructed and if it wasn’t because of the obstruction, it wldve resulted in a certain goal
