Victor Osimhen continued his impressive scoring form for Galatasaray as he bagged a brace in the Turkish giant’s 3-2 win against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League on Thursday.
Osimhen has now scored in back-to-back games for Galatasaray having getting on the score sheet in the 2-1 win against Besiktas.
Also, the 25-year-old has found the back of the net six times in his last five games.
Osimhen scored in the 31st minute to put Galatasaray 2-1 ahead then completed his brace on 39 minutes.
In the second half he had the chance to add to the two goals but first saw his header go just over the bar from close range, and was denied a goal bound effort by the outstretched leg of Fraser Forster in goal for Spurs.
England-born Nigerian striker Dominic Solanke pulled a goal back for Spurs to make it a nervy ending but Galatasaray held on to claim the three points.
Spurs had to play most parts of the second half with 10 men after William Lankshear was sent off.
Galatasaray picked up their third win in four games (one draw) in the Europa League and are now third in the standing on 10 points, two points behind the leaders Lazio.
The defeat, which was Spurs’ first in the competition, leaves Spurs in fifth place on nine points.
