Former Watford striker Troy Deeney has believes Mohamed Salah is still not ‘world-class’ saying that he would not want his own children to play like the Liverpool winger.
The debate over which players are truly ‘world-class’ is always subjective and therefore a little silly. However, there are some players – everybody agrees – who fall into the category.
Deeney recently spoke on TalkSport, explaining why he doesn’t feel as though Salah is deserving of that honour.
“My argument has always been that I just don’t think he’s world-class.
“But his goals that he [Salah] scores, he scores an unbelievable amount of goals, he’s highly effective, but that’s just my opinion.
“He’s probably going to turn around and say, ‘Who is Troy?,’ and fair play to him, but that’s my opinion.”
In his debut season for Liverpool, Salah scored 44 goals with the Reds and has not looked back since.
He has won the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Club World Cup, and Champions League.
He has been named the Premier League Player of the Season, won the Puskas Award, and been named African Footballer of the Year twice, among various other individual accolades.

If Salah is not world class, then my backside must be a violin.
When you score with the regularity that Salah does at the highest level of football, you are world class. That is the definition of world class. But Salah doesn’t just score, he generates assists with his incisive passes and pin point crosses with both feet. He is not an otu ukwu. Uses both feet very well.
Omo, that’s a world class player. He doesn’t need to be a dribbler or possess Okocha-type skills to be world class. His end product on the pitch makes him world class.

@Segun, I am not Pompei, its just better to call it as we see it. Salah is better than Samuel. Even at his current age he Salah is still better. And for Troy a below average ex-watford player being called an ex-star by CS is a complete joke.
And to call Troy Deeney an Ex-EPL ‘star’ is laughable on its own. Deeney was never a star, a below average at best. Yes he is BAME and that is the opportunity he is having as a pundit/commentator.
This Troy of struggling Watford reminds me of a certain dude called Egungu who will talk down whatever is good just because he couldn’t make it happen for himself. And the lies he tells himself and his sympathisers makes me wonder how such a person can ever be happy aside deceiving himself online???
