A big opportunity for Finidi George to snatch the super eagles job.
A fantastic result in this window could be all he needs to get the job, after all he applied for it.
Other applicants would wish they have the opportunity Finidi has.
I’m sure Finidi knows this 100% And this is the reason he’s taking this games seriously.
I do wish we have a foreign coach but if Finidi proves he’s equal to the task,I do give him my blessings..

While posing a good result is these friendlies may be a good thing, we should beware of what is nowadays referred to as “the new manager bounce”, particularly with these young baby coaches.

You give them a job on interim basis, they give you fantastic initial results. You then hand it to them on a permanent basis, then they become a disaster.

This is the reason why I always insist the job of the SE coach in not one to be given to a trialist.

Conistency they say is what makes a man.

Rather, Look for the most accomplished coach you can find with a reasonable and commendable track record both at club and international level with at least a decade of experience at the highest levels of coaching.

That is how big teams across the world operate.

True talk,I wish a good foreign manager is appointed but the cash trap Nff might give the job to Finidi should he prove himself in these games.
Finidi will cost less, meanwhile, with Finidi’s years of experience playing under great managers, don’t you think he has learnt enough to equip him for the task ahead?

When has playing under great managers guaranteed anyone coaching success….?

Almost all the Man Utd legends who played under Ferguson have been coaching disasters

The Chelsea legends who played under several top managers have been coaching disasters too.

Vincent Kompany’s many years playing under the best managers isn’t impacting his style nor his results.

Majority of our glorified 94 squad who played under our best ever coach (bar keshi) cannot compete favorably for jobs outside the confines of Nigeria.

In coaching, you make your own fortune…your playing experience most times count for little.

I just read this article on Goal:

“Benni McCarthy, Pitso Mosimane, Rhulani Mokwena & other top coaches in line to replace Hugo Broos as Bafana Bafana mentor”.

RSA have very fearsome local coaches if Hugo Broos decides to walk away. Fortunately the allure of trying to snatch the WC ticket from Nigeria might not let him do so unless perhaps he botched the upcoming friendlies.

Nigeria do not have such luxury of special coaches.

Now you will ask, Sly, what is the common denominator with the coaches you listed above…..THEY ALL HAVE STRONG CVs….CVs that will land them jobs anywhere on this continent with relative ease.

Rhulani Mokwena is just 36 or 37 years of age, yet he readily boasts close to a decade of coaching experience coaching senior teams and has won laurels both locally and on the continent.

They are not flaunting some ex this, ex that nonsense that our owns at home flaunt with shameless abandon.

Bẹni McCarthy is a contemporary of Daniel Amokachi, yet he has already wọn his domestic trophy with a little know FC Capetown and league runner up position with another little known Amazulu FC, even going on to qualify them for the group stage of the CAF CL at the first time of asking. And now being an assistant coach at Manchezter United, SAns have nothing to worry about as regards how competent their owns can be.

Pitso Mosimane is a contemporary of our overatted 94 loudmouths, yet he has taken his coaching trade beyond the african continent to as far a the middle east, recording successes all the way. He is even currently being linked to the vacant Wydad Casablanca coaching job. Egyptian giants Zamalek are also hot on his heels.

How many Nigerian coaches can be described in the same breathe.

Some people are here glorifying U17 world cup as if we’ve never had far better and more quality U17 winner squads than Amuneke’s…..as a matter of fact if we are to count U17 winners who should be SE coach, we would list Manu Garba and Fanny Amun before we mention Amuneke.

Our exinternationals are just a bunch of lazy opportunists who need to get serious with their life.

Nigeria players don’t respect black coaches period, unless they will allow finito to call up players he knows can do the job for him not NFF inviting players for him

You instill discipline and strict camp rules… No player should be too big to get the stick. Peseiro did it to Iheanacho… A coach should have good rapport with his players but he should never become their friend as doing that will make him compromise… Such players who are loyalists even though not performing to merit a callup will be feeling entitled to getting callups… the players have money but Finidi have seen Money in his time and he has resume most of them will only ever at most dream to have. I am behind you Finidi George… You are proven as a player and so far you are proving yourself as coach who started from humble beginnings… the trenches of our NPFL… So carry go… We dey your back… Bring it home against old foes Ghana and the crack team of Mali.

Isn’t that what oliseh did that some blind Nigerians started calling him al sorts of names. Things they can’t try at their various clubs or with a white coach. Will the NFF give him the free hand to do his job is the question that needs answer at this stage. Have come notice that when the local coaches are at the helm, their is always interference from the NFF.

Hmmm, isn’t this what landed Oliseh in trouble when he demanded for discipline. But some gullible Nigerians were making a case for insubordination by a cry baby. Something they can’t try at their various clubs overseas or with a white coach. Have noticed also when the local coaches are at the helms, their is always interference from the NFF, the question to now ask is will the local coaches be given the free hand to do their jobs?

I’m so happy for Finidi too. He should grab the opportunity and show his class to some of us that don’t believe in our own but foreign coaches that have nothing to offer us.

I am to see my lovely Dessers and Nwabali. This is the time Kolawole have to stamp his spot in the Super Eagles. Good luck Finidi. What Paseiro and Oga Rohr has failed to do, our own can do it better. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

Another rubbish comment by this narcissist @Dr drey. Please what’s so rich about their CV that your coming here to talk about. By now Top teams with vacancies should be clamoring to have their signature at all means. Last time i checked his current team is close to relegation, maybe you can tell us why? with all the noise that he is a great coach. He should be the next coach of Liverpool or Bayern Munich. Why is it only Arab nations seeking for his signature since his CV is very rich. Well i will be expecting Bennie to be the next coach of Manchester United since his CV is also rich. Hope he is also a candidate for Liverpool, Bayer positions at the end of the season. Please don’t come here with your useless lies about ex-players begging for positions, even CSN goofed about siasia applying for the SE position, until you show us who have applied for the position i will advise you shut your pile hole. Instead of you to be helping your former P teacher to coach the squirrels on how to win games to spare, you here making a fool of yourself about our ex-players. The last PE teacher that left, wasn’t he hired with a losing record. What was rich about his CV, that he came second in an European cup 20 years ago. Well Amuneke also won the Under 17 9 years ago, so whats stops him from being considered. Where is your almighty Egbo, thought he would have being painting Europe red. SMH
