The Project Manager of TECNO Nigeria, Charles Enwere has said the AFCON Viewing Experience is to promote unity and togetherness among Nigerians.
Enwere said this in an exclusive chat with Complete Sports, at the venue of the AFCON Viewing Experience at Ojo Square, Akoka, Iyaba, Lagos on Wednesday, 7 February, 2024.
As part of lined up events for this year’s tournament TECNO, an official partner with CAF and AFCON 2023, was at Akoka Iyaba, to give fans a wonderful experience.
Fans had the opportunity to watch the semi-final clash between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and South Africa live on a big screen.
Before the commencement of the game, the fans were involved in different games like snookers, Ludo, scrabble, table soccer and chess.
There were ball juggling, dancing and singing competition where winners got beautiful prizes.
Also, there was predict and win where the winner went home with a TECNO Spark 20 for correctly predicting the outcome of the Nigeria vs South Africa game.
Popular Nigeria artiste Mr Real entertained the large crowd after the Super Eagles had defeated South Africa on penalties.
“TECNO is an official sponsor of CAF and AFCON 2023 and we have had a lot of activities and promotions around this partnership. We have been able to leverage this to reach out to our customers, to reach out to our fans to ensure they enjoy a good mobile experience of the AFCON games and different matches that have been played,” Enwere said.

“TECNO is an official partner and we have ensured that every match game we come together, bring Nigerians together to celebrate together, promoting unity, promoting Nigerian excellence, promoting togetherness as Nigerians and TECNO is after that to ensure that Nigerians have a good experience especially when Nigeria is playing. So together we are cheering the Super Eagles up to victory.
“We have been going to locations in popular places so now we want to come back to a place where people can come and enjoy themselves and they don’t have to pay any money so everything here is free of charge. Everyone in this community is free to come and cheer the Super Eagles and have a good time.“

According to him, TECNO wanted to give customers a feel of the ongoing AFCON.
“It’s about reaching out to our fans, as we all know we are the sponsors of the AFCON 2023 so what we are doing is we are trying to spread the love. We are trying to reach everyone and make them feel among in what we are doing.
“So we are at Akoka and we are trying to give our customers that experience, if you can’t go to Ivory Coast we will bring it to your door step, so that is what we are doing, let them have that premium feel.
“It is part of TECNO’s goal this year, to reach out to each customers in rural areas and anywhere you are TECNO will always reach out to you and make you feel special.
“The reason why we choose Akoka is because it is a student environment and most of our products are youth friendly products so we are looking at where we have that population, looking for those that are actually football people who will come out and support the Super Eagles. Also, we are trying to create awareness for sport and Africa as a whole.“
How the fans have embrace the whole idea, Anih said:“They have welcomed the whole development and they are actually excited for a brand like TECNO to remember them and bring their experience here. Apart from watching the match we have side attractions where there are games, where people can predict and win the latest TECNO Spark 20 and other fantastic gifts.“
“So it’s fun for them, to relax and watch the football on a bigger screen and they also stand a chance to win fantastic prices, it’s very big for them and they love it.
“It’s been a big experience and a very busy one like we started taking some of our customers to Ivory Coast to watch the matches live and direct and give them a very good experience. From there we moved on to bars and lounges where people relax, to also give them the AFCON experience and now we are here and it’s been a us trying to reach out to all our customers wherever you are. We know how Nigerians love football and we make sure they try to get the best experience during this AFCON.”
