Former Nigerian international, Joseph Yobo has lauded the performance of Super Eagles winger, Ademola Lookman in Nigeria’s 1-0 win over Angola in the quarter-finals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Recall that Lookman netted the only goal of the game in the first half, to send the Super Eagles to the semi-finals of the tournament.
The goal was Lookman’s third goal of the AFCON 2023 and remains the team’s top scorer.

Reacting after the team’s victory, Joseph Yobo, who was a guest in Afrosports AFCON coverage, said that the Atalanta star is having a tournament to remember.
“I am happy for Lookman at this tournament because he has been getting us the goals.
“This is his third goal in AFCON and I love the way he handled each game. His combination with Osimhen, has been great.”

CAF should tell Osimhen to return the African best player award to lookman..

You just messed everything up as I was about to say that your head don correct.
Common sense should tell you that the presence of Osimhen in eighteen of the opponent is a blessing for others to net goals.
Osimhen may not be scoring goals as expected or making some little mistakes in front of goal but at the same time, Osimhen is a great blessing to this team.

The good thing is that Osimhen has been phenomenal in all our matches so far, he was the reason we beat CIV, Cameroon and GB, don’t forget his quick fire equaliser against EG too.

However you need to realise value of Osimhen in this Afcon. EG – he scored. Ivory Coast – he won the penalty. GB – he pressured own goal won. Cameroun – truly I’ve never seen a more energetic performance in football. And he took ball off opponent and passed to Lukman for goal no. 1. Angola – after he had run himself into the ground the Angolan team put us under pressure.
He should be the 1st name on the team sheet.
