Super Eagles winger Michael Babatunde has expressed his delight at scoring his first goal for Wyday Casablanca in Friday’s 2018/19 CAF Champions League matchday-one clash at home against Asec Mimosa, reports Completesports.com.
Babatunde restored Wydad Casablanca’s lead three minutes into the second half after Wonlo Coulibaly’s equaliser had cancelled out Ismail el Haddad’s opener for the home side.
“Thank you my God for my first goal of 2019,” Babatunde wrote on his Instagram Page.
Zouhair el Moutaraji, Walid el Karti and Badie Aouk also scored to secure an emphatic win for Wydad Casablanca who won the competition a second time two years ago.
Salif Bagate scored a late consolation goal for Asec Mimosa.

The triumph took Wydad to the top of Group A on better goal difference than Nigerian’s Lobi, who came from behind to defeat 2016 champions Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa 2-1 in Enugu.
Babatunde starred for 75 minutes before he was replaced by Badie Aouk.
Lobi Stars are away to Asec Mimosa in their next game billed for the Felix Houphouet-Boigny stadium on the 19th of January while Mamelodi Sundowns will host group leaders, Wydad Casablanca.
