Nigeria defender Chidozie Awaziem is a subject of interest from Turkish Super Lig outfit Besiktas, Completesports.com reports.
According to ajansspor.com, Besiktas manager Sergen Yalcin is interested in signing the versatile defender who spent the second half of last season with another Turkish club Caykur Rizespor.
Besiktas officials according to the website have also met with Awaziem representatives to discuss the move.
Awaziem is currently on loan at Spanish club Leganes from Portuguese giants FC Porto.

The 22-year-old has made 24 league appearances for Leganes this season.
He was in action for 90 minutes in the Cucumber Growers’ 2-1 away defeat at Osasuna on Saturday.
Awaziem linked up with Porto in 2014 after spending three years at Nigeria Professional Football League club Elkanemi Warriors.
After spending two years with Porto B , he was promoted to the first team in 2016 and featured in 10 league games.
Aside from his loan stints at Caykur Rizespor and Leganes, he also spent the 2017/2018 campaign with French Ligue 1 side Nantes.

Awaziem is 22 years old? He spent 3 years. in Elkanemi Warriors before moving to FC Porto in 2014 when he was 16 years old. Does it mean he started playing professional league football with Elkanemi from the age of 13 years? CSN over to you for answers
Awaziem probably was in the youth team of Elkanemi.
Some clubs have under 9 to under 21ish as part of their youth set up and if you prove to the coaches you are good enough for the senior team you rightfully get your chance to stake a claim.

Are you referring to Elkanemi Warriors of Maiduguri or Elkanemi Warriors of Madrid….???
Even the ones NPFL teams call “feeders team”, you need to see the ‘old men’ playing in them.
Awaziem was in either the 2013 or 2015 class of Nigeria under 17.
He was a defensive midfielder then.He was an integral part of the team,sadly he had an injury before even the qualifiers.
So no way he would be an old man to pass the MRI screening or even get an invite to one of Nigeria’s credible youth set ups.
Awaziem “would have been” in the U17 team of 2013. But he failed the very first set of MRI scans carried out on the team after the talent hunt/screening phase was completed. That was why he missed out even b4 the commencement of the qualifiers. That is a cue…! I end it here.
Nigeria players should start moving to bigger clubs regardless of seating on bench, you will learn from experience world class players. I advise victor Osinhmen to go to big clubs where you can mingle with big players and learn more experience, learn from yaya trure them and other Bigger Africa players, dont afriad of compite with bigger boys
If Ndidi were sitting on the bench in a big club, he would not be the best tackler in the EPL today. Osimhen was sitting on the bench at Wolfsburg and his career almost drowned, he took a step down and went to chaleroi, from there to lille and in just 2 seasons, NAPOLI with $80m cant even get his signature. Kelechi and Success have been on the bench in their clubs and players like sam kalu, chuwkueze, aribo and Osimhen have come from nowhere to overtake them in National team reckoning.
Sitting on the bench even in FIFA XI team never helps any footballer….and thats a fact…!!!

As for the topic on ground, I don’t think Turkey is a bad destination for Awazzy. Regular football in a “small club” is better than bench in a big club, me thinks. We need our guys match fit and sharp for upcoming internationals.
