Nigeria defender Jamilu Collins is close to joining German Bundesliga club Union Berlin from SC Paderborn, reports Completesports.com.
Collins is keen to leave Paderborn following their relegation to Bundesliga 2 last season.
The 26-year-old has also been linked with Werder Bremen but according to transfermarket.de , he is set to join Union Berlin.
Union Berlin signed another Nigerian Taiwo Awoniyi on loan from Liverpool last week.

Former Super Eagles forward Anthony Ujah is already a key member of the squad.
Collins scored once in 83 league appearances for Paderborn.
He joined the club from Croatia outfit HNK Rijeka in 2017.
The left-back was on Monday named in Nigeria’s squad for next month’s friendlies against the Elephants of Coted’lvoire and Carthage Eagles of Tunisia.

It will be better for him, he needs a club that we can all watch him play.
If only you can up your game for the Super eagles. Your playing in one of the best leagues in the world but your performance for the National team leaves less to be desired. You need to work on your speed, defensive abilities, awareness etc. Especially against stronger opponents.
Alot of enterprising left backs are coming up, hope your up for the challenge.
Jamilu Collins Returns Home
With the cut-throat nature of competition for places in the Super Eagles becoming fiercer, any player who values his slot in the team these days would – in most instances – need to be located in top a league.
Already a Nigeria International, this uplift from the Bundasliga 2 to summit of German football is undoubtedly a step in the right direction for Jamilu Collins who is seeing his grip on the Super Eagles left full back position slowly slip through his fingers.
Having successfully brushed Brian Idowu aside, Jamilu (in the eyes of some fans) have somewhat struggled to make the left fullback position in the Super Eagles his personal property.
I do pray the move materialises.
Personally, I think he has done okay in Nigeria colours. However, Rohr’s relentless search for options in that position would suggest that the German tactician still views that department as an area of mild concern.
And Collins has reasons to be concerned: the emergence of Zaidu Sanusi and resurgence of Ebuehi (who can also play as a left fullback) could place strain of his Super Eagles starting 11 status.
Plus, Ola Aina seldom disappoints when deployed as a left full back. Funny enough, in no less than 15 matches for Nigeria as full backs, Aina has 3 assists while Collins has 0.
But there are nuances in the way different players interpret their positions. Jamilu Collin, a natural left footer, is disciplined defensively whilst not shy of supporting the attack when required.
This move back to the Bundasliga should enhance his profile and help acuminate his full-back skills even further.
Having made his international entrance on 11 September 2018, Collins has gone on to accumulate 15 caps for Nigeria earning 8 wins, 5 draws and 2 losses.
He has been a valuable member of the team.
I hope ekong will learn from him. Ekong will likely lose his position in the team if he joins Watford. With former German youth internationals joining super eagles ekong should aviod English championship if he is to retain his position in super eagles.
