Super Eagles interim head coach, Finidi George is looking forward to recording a second consecutive victory with the team.
Finidi’s reign started on a good note with the Super Eagles scraping past eternal rivals Ghana 2-1 last weekend.
The three-time African champions will be up against the Eagles of Mali in their second friendly at the Grand Stade de Marrakech on Tuesday.
The Super Eagles will be without Frank Onyeka and Calvin Bassey for the game.

The likes of Victor Osimhen, Taiwo Awoniyi, Tyrone Ebuehi and Gabriel Osho couldn’t honour the invitation for the two friendlies due to fitness concern.
Finidi however said they can’t afford to dwell too much on the absence of the players.
“We cannot at this time be dwelling on the injuries and absences that we have to cope with. Our intention has always been to win these two matches and then look forward to the World Cup qualifiers in June,” Finidi told thenff.com.
” We are determined to keep up the momentum and sustain the winning mentality derived from beating the Black Stars.”

Amuneke gonna have to become very lucky now so, because George finidi isn’t joking at all, Continuity is crucially vital in football with the right manager. And if finidi does defeat Mali after Ghana victory then he will automatically get the job, finidi is working without 2 assistants, and goalkeeper coach, Nff are a joke from time immemorial!!@ defeat Mali and get the job finidi. Amuneke can wait and pray for better luck next time, before then let amuneke go and coach in the Nigerian league, he will learn a few things there!
If Amuneke didn’t get Super Eagles coaching job now, He can coach either under 20 or under 23 team. Another opportunity will come for him in future. He can show his coaching skills with Olympic team for now. Ladan Bosso has nothing to offer when it comes to coaching.
Amuneke doesn’t meet NFF benchmark so he’s been clearly out of the contest though some of you are still being emotional. What I feel its ok for the team right now is to have NFF give Coach Finidi free hand to select his team of assistants. Beating our bitter enemy, Ghana without assist, means Coach mean business and exactly what is need. Himself having been part of the setup.
I think Finidi George can lead Super Eagles if NFF release his hand to choose the better players , better administeration for Super Eagles , also Finidi himself must do somethings for SE to bring succession just like , he summon suitable, excellent players without emotions, he must put an excellent stratigies and tactics of playing for SE just he can put 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 or 4-4-2 according to the requesities position, he must put descipline and dedcation on SE players minds and hearts, he must play with an excellent pattern or styleof playing accorder to SE mentality , he must put winning mentality on SE player’s minds and hearts , he should choose Daniel Amokatchi and Sylvanus Okpala , Ike Shorounmu as assitants coaches cause thoes coaches have merit on SE coaching…
Finidi is the right person to do a good job. NFF must hire him without delay.
Please what’s the NFF benchmark that Amunike does not meet? Let Finidi and Amunike be interviewd for the job, by a knowledgeable and impartial panel. Then a fair decision can be made.
I confess I am an Amunike man. And have not been too impressed with Finidi’s Enyimba. Also note that a 10 man Ghana team was at par with the full 11 man Eagles team who showed some trailities. However, there are many instances of the Deputy performng better than the old boss when given an opportunity. Bonfrefe in 1996 Olympics arguably better than Westerhoff in 1964 WC. Stephen Keshi in 2013 better than Shaibu Amodu.
Let Amunike prove his worth with CHAN/U20/U23 or get a local cub to prove he can do it here. Not winning U17 World cup is enough please…
Finidi will continue as assistant to the yet to be determined Foreign Coach that will be employed. He is not ripe yet and neither any of our brandished local coaches. You can take that to the bank……
