Even though we’re playing against the home crowd, Ireland, Australia, Canada, and possibly the ref and FIFA, we’ll come through.

From what I am seeing if our girls don’t stepup… they will lose. Running like they heavy and loosing possession.

They can’t even string 3passes together. I am not impressed. These girls have gaps in how they lave learnt football.

The Ireland girls are using the ball better and seem clearly the more tactically molded side.

Bro trust me it is simply because of Oshoala , It is nothing personal, I love her (as a person) as much as the next man trust me, but we must not compromise efficiency or excellence for a fear or respect of fake reputations – It is mindless and self detrimental.

Trust me bro, we would be ahead now if not for her, she is non existent and if you look clearly, she is not even getting on with her team mate – Just watch her interaction with T Payne and you’ll see what I mean

I have warned Waldrum not to start Oshoala, but he did, and we are seeing the results now.

Whenever Asisat is bench, it brings hunger in her. Monday would have started the game or Oparanozie if she is fully fit. Anyway, good luck, Super Falcons. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

Who will teach Nigerian senior teams how to win the second balls? The same thing happened with Australia, ensuring we are always dominated in terms of possession.

Plus Plumptre needs to be careful. She’s being easily dispossessed at the right back. Payne, Kanu, Ajibade, and Oshoala need to be more cohesive upfront. They sting has been taken out of their attack.

She’s been disposed at left back and doesn’t even know what to do with the ball or make a pass she’s not made for 3 despite all our progress so far. I’m just wondering if this is how Plumtre plays at her club???

We will qualify from the group but let’s not hype this Nigerian team Abeg there’s nothing good about their ball distribution and usage. Make them sha dey qualify…..

We have to be quick off the ground to meet second balls first. Not happy with our laid back approach which always then to create holes for dangerous through balls. Anyone close to the coaching crew should please call them out on this. Maybe there need to be a swap of position between Rashidat and Kanu to wake this team up otherwise we may just concede and then find it hard to recover.

Chima, you are an absolute moron. Do you have any other thing going on in your life aside bigotry? Everything about you has tribal undertone. Everything should not be based on ethnicity and I have noticed that you are the most prejudiced person on this forum. Everything to you is Igbo vs Yoruba. Get a life!

I stayed up till 3:00am my time to watch our women play. My “heart has been in my mouth.” I don’t know if I should go and sleep and read about the result when I wake up by the grace of God. Our women haven’t been at their best. Hopefully, they didn’t let overconfidence overtake them. Let’s hope for a better second half. Dia ris God o

The Irish are not a small team as well. We can surely do better but I’m glad we didn’t concede. Let’s hope we qualify that’s what matters. I hope we stay coordinated in the second half. It’s still remains our best line up so far. We do have some jokers on the bench like Oparanoze. We can still win this game. Most importantly we must not lose.

We should get involved in the game.At the moment we are literally just passive. We tend to lose possession easily and concede possession to the opponent. We lose 50/50 battles and lack the desire the passion to win.
We are also lethargic and disinterested.Oshoala’s miss was disappointing for her level you do expect better.
Generally it’s a very disappointing first half.
We need to be aggressive and get involved in the second half otherwise the Irish will carry the day.
Meanwhile,Oparanozie and gift Monday needs to sub in for Oshoala and unimpressive Kanu.
      My opinion though.

Please why should the girls put tension or pressure on themselves? They only need a draw to qualify and they are doing just that. They don’t need to run themselves ragged in the match, win at all cost, and then, go disappoint in the next match. Please let them be conservative and get the job done. It is better that way o.

So far on the google live updates, Oshoala is rated 4.6 (the highest from naija side, if not on both sides)
Out of four shots from the Irish, only one was on target.
Though, we need to do better but we are still on the right track.
I just pray we all finish this match with joy and in full comforts.
I pray some of us won’t DIE of hart attack before the match ends. Amen.

Calculators out. As it stands, we are still thru with a 1-0 defeat. Perhaps still thru with a 2-0 defeat. If Canada score, all that changes. But to top the group, a win is necessary.

What is wrong with Oparanozie? Why does the coach have no faith in her. If Oparanozie was in place of Ifeoma. The outcome of the game could gave been different. I don’t know why coach Waldrum rank Ifeoma ahead of Oparanozie and Monday.

it’s very simple…by calculation, canada is out, so the coach told falcons to go for a win to top the group and avoid ENGLAND in the second round…

There is a small probability that England might not make it out of their group, lol. If they lose by 2 goals to China, and Denmark beat Haiti by at least 2 goals.
If China beat them by 1 nil, and Denmark do the same vs Haiti, Group D gets very interesting, as these 3 teams would all have 6 points and a +1 goal difference.

China and Denmark are no slouches either.
So for me, no point trying to avoid any of them. Just do what it takes to beat your next opponent, whoever it is.
For an unpaid coach, Waldrum has done well though. Very well indeed.

Bros, when was the last time you watched her play, and remember she just came out of injury. If you are the coach, would you take such risk?
Coach Waldrum has done masssively well with the Falcons. He was not given any chance to succeed by most football fans in Nigeria, and his employer, NFF. He has proven every one of them wrong.

Oparanozie scored a goal in the month of April against New Zealand. If you watch that match, you’ll realize she has everything Ifeoma currently lacks. When was the last time Ifeoma scored a goal for the falcons?

@ Felix O,Thank you, I have always wondered why he keeps fielding this lazy Ifeoma, she cannot win any ball, just jogging, when last did she ever score a goal?. She is the laziest falcon, she gets pushed of the ball so easily but the clueless coach keep playing her. She does not have any fire in her.

Probably she is the coach girlfriend in camp cos I don’t know why she always field her than Oparanozie?.. Oparanozie is a bulldozer , very skillful, I will advise the coach to onleach her against England come round of 16 , bench Oshiola, let Oshiola come in second half !!

Going by history, this second place is about to get us really far in this world cup. Most of the time we come second, we tend to go really far in tournaments.
But that being said, going forward, the coaching must work on not losing possession easily as well as be first to meet second balls.
A big big congratulations to our beautiful Angels ;THE SUPER FALCONS and also coach Waldrum and crew. God bless to you all for making Nigerians happy.

      ‘Confidence and belief’
      Canada 0-4 Australia

      Anita Asante

Former England defender on BBC Two

It says a lot about this Australia side that we are in stoppage time and they still trying to attack the box.

They aren’t interested in game management, they have the confidence and belief. Total domination.

Here we are against all odds, against all officiating, against all gbese we are going to the knockout stages. Whatever happens in the next stage our ladies have surpassed all expectations.

Good for the Super Falcons. The match was there for the taking, especially in the second half. The Irish goalkeeper stood between us and victory.
More money for our girls. Each has just earned $60,000(#50,000,000). That is massive for them. They shouldn’t relent. There’s an extra $30,000 to make if we make it to the quarter finals.
      Congratulations to the girls!

I said if the Irish coach is wise, he will play for a draw and go home with one point. It seems he heard. Their first world cup and First point! That said Nigeria is runners-up, second to Australia who thankfully beat Canada 4-0. We may play England. We are the underdog but sometimes the victim may become the victor. Meanwhile Zambia got their first win, 3points but they’re going home with Morocco. Nigeria is the last and best Man standing. I think we will not disappoint.

Alhamdulilah. Congratulations to Nigeria and Africa. We made it out of the group.

To be honest, I am not happy with coach Waldrum with his selections of the players in this match.

The coach should know now how to use Oshoala after the Australia match.

She is letting the team down in today’s match. She killed the spirit of the game, and she knew that.

Going forward, if we have to go far in this tournament, then the coach has to be bold enough to start Oshoala from the bench.

Ireland is a strong side, but we had few opportunities to win this match, but we could not do so.

Same thing against Canada. We would have won the match, but we respected the Canadian too much.

Even coach Waldrum just said now that they would have won the match against the Irish team. If he continues like this by playing Oshoala, then I wish Super Falcons the best. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

Playing 4231 as we did against Canada instead of the more adventurous 433 against Australia nullified the threats of our point women but made us tight at the back. I thought they would aim to be the first African side to top a WC group but all is still fair. Unbeaten in the group of death is worth the while

      Group stage: $30,000
      Round of 16: $60,000
      Quarterfinal: $90,000

      NOTE:

On the eve of the tournament, FIFA backtracked and said they would send the money to the member associations to pay their players. Apparently, Nigeria is not the only mad country to not pay their players. 2/3 teams don’t pay their women well too. Google “FIFA can’t guarantee $30000” to read the sad development
