Former women’s World Cup champions Japan maintained their superiority over the Super Falcons of Nigeria with a 2-0 win in Thursday’s international friendly game in Kobe, Completesports.com reports.
It is now third consecutive wins for Japan over the Super Falcons in their four meetings.
Also, the Falcons have now lost their last five games. The last time they won a match was in the quarter-finals of this year’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco in July.
Among notable Falcons players in action against Japan were Ifeoma Onumonu, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Rasheedat Ajibade, Osinachi Ohale, Ngozi Okobi, Uchenna Kanu, Michelle Alozie, Ashleigh Plumptre and Christy Ucheibe.

Also in action were former Falconets stars like Flourish Sabastine, Esther Onyenezide, Deborah Abiodun and Jumoke Alani.
After a goalless first half, Japan scored two quick goals thanks to a brace from Mina Tanaka.
The deadlock was broken in the 64th minute after Tanaka brought down a floated set piece with her chest before slotting past Nnadozie.
And in the 68th minute Tanaka got her second as she converted from the penalty spot, after Ohale brought down a Japanese player who was through on goal.
Both Falcons and Japan will feature at next year’s FIFA women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Why are we wasting taxpayers money in the name of sponsoring national football teams when there is massive hunger in the land just to be entertained? Time to pull out of all national team football since this is what we get after spending humongous amounts sponsoring national teams. Nonsense!

What kind of magic can they perform when some of the players arrived less than 6 hours before the game. A coach that doesn’t know what to do is just taking a huge salary for nothing. He’s a-never-serious coach. A coach that local coaches defeated during WAFCON. He’s just taking Nigerian team for a further embarrassment at the world cup.

If you play all your friendly games away do not expect to win them I would like to see Canada, USA and Japan travel halfway across the world to face the Super Falcons at Uyo of Abuja.So lets stop blaming the Ladies and be realistic.
Hi guys, i don’t watched the match! But my question is this, imagine three friendly three defeated am trying to figure out what is super falcons problem is it tactical problem or selection problem i don’t knw what is the issue but i could remembered that during when our local coach were in charge they kind of turned out results with these foreign teams since this foreign coach took over super falcons are suffering to win result both foreign and Africa countries there is alot of questions to ask.

Just saw the highlights. Not a bad performance, considering the quality of the opponent. For the first goal, Ohale was fouled at 6:16, yet the ref awarded a freekick against her, and the goal came from there. For the second goal, at 7:19 the Japan player was clearly offside when she received the pass that put her through on goal. So the penalty should never have been given.
Anyway, it was a good match. Good display from both sides.
Two goals coming as a result of wrong decisions by the ref. Could some us learn to watch a game carefully before criticizing the coach and the girls. We are where we are because of sack mentality. Playing these better rated teams is a help as we prepare for the world Cup.
Bros, leave the goals aside for a moment, most of the criticism is coming from the lack of cohesion, ability to string passes together, lack of energy, no quickness of thought and ultimately a lack of any discernable pattern of play especially through midfield…yes one could argue about the goals but in that second half only one team deserved to walk away as winners. You know this is true if you watched the match
The falcons are not bad.I don’t understand the complaints, just that scoring is still a bit problematic.
