Scrum-half Greig Laidlaw says he won’t rush any decision regarding his international future after Scotland’s exit from the World Cup. The Scots suffered a 28-21 defeat to hosts Japan in Yokohama on Sunday which saw them set for an early fight home this week before the quarter-final stage of the competition.

There has been some speculation surrounding Laidlaw’s future, with the experienced half-back turning 34 while out in Asia for the tournament. The likes of Ali Price and George Horne are pushing for starting roles and now Laidlaw has said he won’t be rushing any decision on his international future after the disappointment of missing out on the knockout stages.
“I’ll go away and take time and have a think and speak to the people I need to speak to, and then see what happens after that,” he said. “But tonight it’s about staying together as a group and for the group to learn why we’re in this situation.”
