Osimhen Still Part Of Napoli Squad –Manna

    Austin AkhilomenBy Austin AkhilomenJuly 27, 2024Updated:July 27, 202416 Comments2 Mins Read

Napoli director Giovanni Manna has declared that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is still part of the squad despite reports linking him with  a move out of Italy.

Recall that the Nigerian international was almost on the verge of agreeing a deal with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) before the deal hit the rock.

However, speculation has increased that Osimhen could be on the move, especially with new Napoli boss Antonio Conte reportedly interested in acquiring Chelsea outcast Romelu Lukaku.

In a chat with Football Italia, Manna emphasized that they were satisfied with their attacking options, which included Osimhen, Giovanni Simeone, and Walid Cheddira, hinting that no one might leave.

“I am here to signal unity and to show that we are all one entity. Together, we must build something new with important values. That said, with Osimhen, Simeone, and Cheddira in attack, we are covered. There are still 30 days of the market, and we will make our evaluations.

“This is a process, a project starting this year with the coach at its centre. We share a strategy with the club, and we are calm and clear-headed. We will not make any reckless moves but will make decisions that support our technical and tactical ideas.”

Transfer away from Napoli or Stay in Napoli, from my perspective it doesn’t change the price of fish because Osihmen remains a quality player with skills bordering on world class when his head is in the right place.

And I pray his head is in the right place for next February’s world cup qualifiers.

I have no qualms if he misses the Afcon qualifiers from September as we have enough quality up front- in my humble opinion – to vanquish Benin, Libya and Rwanda even without Osihmen as we have room to make mistakes and retrieve points.

But I need Osihmen at his best for next year’s world cup qualifiers.

That said, stability is a good thing. So if he is going to stay in Napoli or move, the sooner it is decided the better for him so he can be focused.

As good as VO9 is, no club is willing to buy him. You think those people don’t read news a comments? I once said VO9 shouldn’t be seen in anyhow place and with unruly behavior because is not good for him as a public figure and his career but some people said I don’t know what I’m saying. Look at it now. I pray God should help VO9 and give him a second chance to make amend and rewrite his wrong.

        Omoibo with jealousy…

Osimhen’s contemporaries like the one who said he is senior man in the super eagles are unheard of. Osimhen now better than World number 8 best player. It is the pendulum to measure it.

Samson dont mind all those fools… I don’t have their time yet..they don’t know anything about the off pitch side of football..is as important as your on pitch talents…. You treat it equally..infact I tell some young footballers that it is talent 40 percent, DISCIPLINE 60 percent..it is better that way rather than carry all the talent in the world but little or no discipline…I mean look at their balotelli, hadji diuof etc how did they end up?…

They don’t know anything about football talent management… they keep siding vo9, hailing him and pushing him to his downfall..

They just be behind their phones with empty popcorn brain and be typing trash…

They we that are criticising, they think we don’t love vo9…

Some of us have been in this round leather business for years but because here is a faceless forum they talk trash our comments…

Even if you speak Yoruba it cost nothing for these clubs to hire private translators to interpret what the ranting is all about….

Osimhen gat the grace but unfortunately he wants to ruin everything…

@monkey post u r right bro leave them abeg, failure to face reality n admit it rather than believing in what u are brainwash to is d reason why Nigeria is a failed state today, talent is not enough bro in these life each passing day either you choose the pain of regret or discipline (talent was not mentioned meaning is not enough) oshimen is not discipline enough to know that when he was extending his contract he messed up,how can a sane human being extended his contract by one year and agree to the release clause of 130mill pounds, then to earn 10million euros within d extended year,no b juju be that? Oshimen should cover his face in shame n be humble, until he publicly apologized to Finidi mark my words he will continue to struggle other coaches will be wary of him

I laugh when some nitwits say “ni club wants to buy osimhen”…LMAOoo. The height of ignorance and illiteracy.

Arsenal that came with 70m is not a club.
Chelsea that came with 80m+Lukaka is not a club.
PSG that came with 100m+2 players is also not a club.

To them, not being able to afford a commodity means you don’t want it.

Why not wait till Napoli brings down its 130m valuation of osimhen before you open your ignorant mouth wide in public to disgrace yourselves that no club wants osimhen.

In this information age and time, we still need to lecture some people that in European football, there now exists a Financial Fairplay Rule where you can’t sign and pay players exorbitantly without first selling an equivalent value and freeing up space in your salary budget.

I player costs 130m and earns 10m per annum. That means any club that must sign him now will be paying close to 200m combined total of transfer fees, salaries, bonuses and other emoluments (assuming he’s given a 5 year contract afterwards). So what will be his resale value at the end of the 5years…? How much of 200m will they be able to recoup from their investment when it’s time to leave. These are some of the realities of the Modern day transfermarket.

Maybe Lukaka’s transfer to Napoli which isn’t seeing the light of the day too is as a result of Lukaka’s off the pitch behaviours….LMAOoo….He too needs to go beg Finidi and apologize to SE fans for his move from chelsea to Napoli to materialize….LMAOoo.

Players like Dessers, Onuachu, Iheancho who are also struggling to seal meagre deals too need to go and beg Finidi…..LMAOoo

Yeah, financial fair play rule made him re-sign a dumb and stupid contract due to an increase in his salary for 1 year but forgot he could be a free agent soon or leave the club at an easier bargain before the increase to 130 mill.

Hahahaha….you clearly have comprehension problems. When you have resolved your comprehension problems….kindly let us know.

I don’t know how FFP relates with osimhen extending his contract with napoli last season after winning the league for them for the first time in 3 decades.

Whenever your own boss too offers to double your salary for 1 more year extension on the remaining 2 years of your contract, especially when you have just helped the company secure a multibillion dollar oil deal in kuwait….please say No. Tell him you don’t want, simply because you plan to leave for free in 2 years time.

Bite trees till tomorrow. Osimhen is currently in a win-win situation. If he moves from Napoli he wins…..if doesn’t move from Napoli he still gets his place in the team and his nearly 250k per week wage till summer of 2026. And if he doesn’t move, Napoli and Conte will not get their Lukaku whose wage bill too is on the astronomical side.

It is Dé Laurentis that would be blaming himself right now for being too greedy by inserting such a clause in his contract, yet not willing to shift grounds.

The fuss about Osimhens transfer is nothing but a storm in a teacup. Big money transfers never come easy

Even without contract extension, having paid in the region of 70m to sign the then 21yr old osimhen from Lille, and with 76 goals in 138 games for napoli ever since, even with a gun to his head, Dé laurentis wouldn’t have let osimhen go for anything less than 100m – 110m.

So all the brouhaha about contract extension is nothing but beer parlor talk in hindsight. Footballers play for the money. No footballer will reject a 100% raise simply because he wants to wind down a contract with 2 years…yes….2 whole years left. If you know any footballer who has turned down doubled wages to wind down 2 years, please kindly tell us, and with facts

It is simple it all boils down to arrogance and complacency on the part of Osimhen, first of All he should have known or rather remembered that football contracts are not as strong as a normal working career lol, in football you are literally as good as your last season, he should remember that if he is receiving 300K a week he better damn well swallow his pride, he should not mix fans with his club, if fans make a coconut video don’t hold the whole club ransom and bone your teammates when they have their hand out to shake you, because some racist fan made a racist post that was arrogant and childish especially if that club just bumped up your earnings, secondly he shot himself by dropping in his perfromaces because his let his head go forgetting that he has a 130mil clause to live up to, he also didn’t do himselve any favours by delaying his return to the club after AFCON even though his national team did not win and they were no victory parades planned. to make matters worse cursing Kvarathesilia’s agent for him making a comment, and then repeating the act with Finidi all in the space of months.

They say in life you don’t repeat the same mistakes twice but 3 times no that is too much. He bumped up his contract held his club ransom and got complacent as an icing on the cherry and he is basically laying on the bed he made. Universe is still working in his favour to re-write all his wrongsfrom last season, as they (Napoli) hav gone and signed a coach that has the ability to bring out the best in Osimhen again by making him more consistent and scoring 30+ goals as he is really the best Coach in Italy, Osimhen needs to prove himself again both on and off the pitch until such a time if he leaves Napoli now and feels like he has won he will derail he needs to stay and eat humble pie work hard and increase his value. If he forces a move now, he is making the wrong decision and he will go down hill, OSIMHEN NEEDS TO STAY IN NAPOLI GET CONTE THE BEST OUT OF CONTE AT SOME POINT HUMBLE HIMSELF AND MAKE A PUBLIC APOLOGY TO BOTH FINDI, NIGERIANS AND MAYBE EVEN NAPOLI AND WATCH IF THE UNIVERSE DOES NOT OBLIGE FOR HIM FOR THE BETTER AFTER SUCH A SHOW OF HUMILITY, You may as well call me Pinocchio
