Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr insists the team will avenge their defeat against Central African Republic in Sunday’s reverse fixture in Douala, reports Completesports.com.
Rohr’s charges lost 1-0 to the Wild Beasts at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos on Thursday.
The reverse fixture will take place at the Japoma Stadium, Douala.
Rohr is confident the Super Eagles will come out victorious this time around.
“We go there to win the game,” Rohr declared.

“We were the better team (on Thursday), but sometimes the better team do not win.
“They were a bit lucky to score against us, while we had a lot of chances to score. We lacked a little bit of efficiency.
“Despite the defeat, we did not deserve to lose this game.”
He added: “We must stay calm and not panic.
“We must give a big knock on the head of everybody, analyse the game and make some changes in the team.
“We have to find our winning spirit, a new motivation, because everyone is down.”

Mr coach just shut up and do the job ,you definitely deserve to loss the match ,in manitude of that game you dont put calamity balogun at the defence .no room for error or mistake.
So Balogun has become calamity when he played the first 2 matches he was not a calamity? Some people get poor poor memory

Guys,this article speaks volume as to why the SE’s recent performance has been up and down . You wonder why a country of Nigeria’s magnitude do not have a commanding general in the middle of the field, a player who can orchestrate and make things happen from the middle. A player of that mould usually comes very handy when you play against a team that sits deep and play 8 men behind the ball leaving just a hustler in front to catch you on the counter. Such a player must be very comfortable in keeping the ball (ball retention skills), skillful and adept in sighting those blackholes to thread in the defence-splitting passes to unlock oppositions who park the bus and for games where our wingers have multiple players doubling on them and cutting them off. I don’t know how we hope to solve this issue and with which resource we would solve it but it is very expedient going into the AFCON and ofcourse the final round of qualifiers for Qatar in March 2022 to find a solution to this area of our game otherwise, a very good tactician sitting on the opposition bench will just easily cut off supplies to our wings and voila, wahala plus gbege don happen be that and we begin to see those unproductive ball rotation to the back and sideways passes that does nothing to hurt the opposition.

Ekong and balogun are not better than awziem and omeruo.the so call coach is killing our national team.a good coach will never bench omeruo for ekong he should stop relying on them.i don’t see Nigeria wining a trophy with Genot rohr.
I honestly don’t expect to see Balogun in the starting line up on Sunday. His confidence right now will be questionable. Ekong might retain his spot but we need someone who is gritty in African football. Awaziem or even Akpogunma will be fine. Balogun has no speed for these determined CAR boys. I blame Rohr for making certain players think a certain position is their birth right. As a coach, you have to switch up tactics which includes rotating players. Our backline has been studied and we can see a pattern in the way we lose games. Against Algeria a late push that lead to a freeckick in a game the boys thought was heading into extra time, against Sierra Leone another late push that resulted in drawing a game that we were 4 goals up at home, 2018 WC late Argentine goal where we would have been fine with a draw, Madagascar was another error from Balogun that was as a result of pressure from the Malagasy player that led to the back pass. It’s obvious that with a high pressure game on the defense, it will only be a matter of time before they falter. I’ll advise Rohr not to start with the same CB and learn how to close out games. I rather have this lesson learn now than in the last game or last 2 games..
Mr. Roar,I have not doubt about qualifying from this group but it is doubtful you will be the one to lead SE in the final stage because I don’t see you winning the next ANC as agreed in your contract.
Forget about those regressive on this forum, stay focus and you may still prove me wrong. However you may need to adjust your utterances and overcome these challenges:
1. Stop making some players feel like they are indispensable. Read the riot acts to your regular players. Tell them “Sit up or get shipped out”.
2. Use the players in their right position. The same position they play in their clubsides and demand the best from them. Play Simon from the left flank, Give Aribo a free role to move more closer to the opponent box, he can score more of those goals like against Brazil and he’s got killer passes.
3. Play Shehu as the DM anchor with Onye. This guy has never disappointed in SE matches.
4. You need a rugged defender like Awaziem to partner Balogun and Akpoguma in a 352 formation.
5. The attacking pair of Osi and Awo will surely deliver more than 2 goals on Sunday but you need Aribo to play behind them.
6. Demand that Ejuke release the ball on time for counter attack.
7. Start Okoye in goal(he is the most active GK).

I like your analysis! I would say that there is a lot to take in from that Game. We could have come out victorious if we changed tactics. After the first half ,we saw that the CAR team are here to defend, there are two options a coach can introduce .
1. Pass the ball to the feet and cause they to bring you down > we get a penalty.
2. We go with long balls , we have Osi who can contest and out run their defenders. two or three times they will succumb.
At the moment we are going to pray and believe that the coaching crew have watched the game over and over to understand our most intent strategy to use on Sundays return leg , if we don’t win the game , then I will be on board supporting the need for new leader. it will be quite clear that the coach has conflict of interest if he does not change the line up and the need for a change becomes Vital. Fingers crossed !
@coachie your opinion make sense we have players but we don’t have a good coach it takes a good coach to bring out the best from the players.
DESPITE LOSS AT HOME WE STILL BE IN SUPER EAGLE BUT ROHR MUST ALWAYS BE DOING HIS FIVE SUBSTITUTION. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT.
I have this feeling that the day Rohr quits or gets fired, Picknick’s yansh go open like fowl and alot of things not known to us will be exposed. How do you explain not paying a man for 8 months (I’m not using this as a justification for the loss) can picknic go 8 months without his own salary? The fool wears Fendi T shirts ND reeks of arrogance. How the f can you be arrogant when you are in debt everywhere? Can’t pay the players and coach on time but signs all these sponsorship deals, gets money from Fifa and Caf, and gets from the sports ministry. Something isn’t right. THE MAN IS A FRAUD!
Problem definitely is not the players. As long as Rohr ccontinues his Buhari-styled coaching (oudated, clueless and tepid) we will never win anything. Just check all our contemporaries innthe African game won their matches both home and away!

Yea, his supporters will mention qualifying for back to back competitions forgetting that with the present crop of players plying their trades with top sides in top 10 European league sides, qualifying for championships should certainly be our birthright.
