The Super Eagles of Nigeria dropped two places from 34th to 36th position in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola world ranking, completesports.com reports.
The ranking was released on FIFA’s official website on Thursday.
In Africa, the Eagles remain in fifth position behind Senegal, Tunisia, Morocco and AFCON champions Algeria.
Lone Stars of Liberia, who will host the Eagles in next month’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier, dropped six places from 144th to 150th.
While Cape Verde moves up one place from 77th to 76th.
Meanwhile, Belgium and Brazil maintained first and second places respectively in the world with France replacing England in third spot.
European champions Italy are in fourth and England occupy fifth position.
The next FIFA ranking will be published on 25 November 2021.

I think this news is a blessing in disguise somewhat, I’d like to see them face a very strong opponent in the Last Round of World Cup Qualifying next March, if you can’t beat the continent’s best at that point, then you don’t deserve being amongst the gathering of the very best @ the global Mundial in Qatar
Being 5th in Africa might still help avoid the aforementioned 4 teams ahead of us in the ranking, now if we drop to 6th before the 3rd round of the qualifiers then I think we will meet one of the top 5 heavyweights but honestly the 10 teams that make it to the 3rd round should all be considered dangerous. No small teams anymore.
No let me inform u guys now my believe is that non of those african team can trouble us except Senegal and Algeria .I mean in the top 4

Let them keep dropping down the FIFA ranking ladder, harsh as that might sound to some ears, but it should surely bring out the beast in them when the chips are down
you are very correct my friend, if you can not not beat a team in africa to qualify no matter the circumtance then we dont deserve to be in world cup.
If we put our acts together and avoid bonus distractions , no African nations should trouble us with present form of best world stricker Osigoal.
In my own candid opinion, this should serve as a caution for both the coaches and the players about their attitude to given their best in other to qualify for the tournament. The players are not giving their best on the field of play. The coaches should do more in term technicality of the game to always have good results. One of ways the coaches can achieve
this is to create an atmosphere of competition in all departments of the game to get the best from these players. Osihmen, Balogun, Aribo, and Simon Moses are all given their best at there various clubs because they know there players waiting on the wings to take their place. Look at the way Chukwueze played for his club yesterday and even scored on his return from injury because he wants to regain his position from Dajuma. This is the kind of healthy competition we want in the Super Eagles and Rohr should create this and be more technical in his approach to teams he is playing against. Rohr over to you proof to Nigerians you are more capable of not only qualifying us for major tournaments but you are capable of winning lurels after six years of being in saddle of handling the Super Eagles of Nigeria. The world best striker couldn’t do anything when CAR humble us in Lagos. @Richie u must be Godwin Enakhena of LTV because that is wat he usually say on his programs in sports splash. Ranking or no ranking eagles will made it to world cup let’s be optimistic.
Hahahaha @Tayo, you got me there, interestingly enough, I listen a lot to Godwin right from his days with Charles Anazodo on Sports Summit on Metro FM, up till these days @ LTV Sports Splash…..but nah fam, lol….i’ve got a mind of my own brah, and that opinion I shared up there is strictly mine, after carefully looking at current developments in the team.
All I’m saying in a nutshell is, these boys need fiercer opposition to WAKE UP and smell the coffee, and realise that two major international tournaments are knocking on the door, one of which is roughly less than 3 months away already

I personally don’t believe in FIFA ranking but I do believe in what our players can do on the pitch.
We have what it takes to beat any team in the world.
The seriousness and determinations of our players and the coaches to achieve something bigger like winning the Afcon and world cup should be their dream and focus.
For now, yes we have a squard but our expectation is more than just we have a strong team. God bless Nigeria!!!
