FRANCIS UZOHO 6/10
He produced a fine save to deny the Wild Beasts in the 66th minute, but couldn’t prevent the visitors from scoring the winning goal late on.
OLA AINA 6/10
Solid defensively and did a good job supporting the attack. He was one of the top performers for the Super Eagles on the night.
LEON BALOGUN 6/10
Had a good game but was at fault for the only conceded by the Super Eagles.
WILLIAM TROOST-EKONG 6/10
Did well despite his team conceding a late goal in the game.
JAMILU COLLINS 5/10
Not one of his best performance for the Super Eagles. The left-back didn’t make much impact in the game.
FRANK ONYEKA 5/10
Failed to fill in well for the injured Wilfred Ndidi. The Brentford man didn’t do much to justify his selection.
JOE ARIBO 5/10
The midfielder produced a below par showing in the game. He was duly replaced by Ahmed Musa 12 minutes from time.
KELECHI IHEANACHO 5/10
He was forced off with an injury after the break. Perhaps he could have made the difference if he had stayed on the pitch longer than that.
MOSES SIMON 7/10
A lively performance from the Nantes of France winger. He was replaced by Samuel Kalu in the 71st minute.
CHIDERA EJUKE 7/10
The winger was behind most of the team’s positive moves upfront. He will surely keep his place in the next game.
VICTOR OSIMHEN 5/10
Wasted three good opportunities to put his side in front . The Napoli forward had a poor game.

Poor analysis as usual,the players were too slow and it’s time rohr should start playing awaziem,we strong defenders,this oyibo wall thing is no longer working,as for the coach,I won’t say anything for now
Onyeka did not do well is a lie. He did very well if truly you watch the match. As for Ejuke nice game. Surprised at people saying the attacker was not feed wuthe ball, Oshimen waisted like 3 chances so also Awoniyi should have bury that chances immediately he came up though their defender were blocking every ball there. Though not in my habit to blame certain players but I can say our attacker didn’t play well today but in all kudos to d boys better luck in next match
@ Tayo sometimes absent minded mothers feed babies through their nose. Food always going the wrong way. All the baby is asking is for food to come through the mouth and not the nose. Lets be honest brotherly, some players have been giving well enough time to impress but they have been, simply put, PRETENDERS. These are the players that are going to mess Rohr’s good job up if he is not careful. We were sadly crawling like snail in the first half; can you imagine? Just shows how much the players have suddenly become sooooo complacent and over-confident. That was our hoodoo in todays game. Zaidu’s quickness cutting in from the wing into the middle when he is closed down from the wide is business like and was really missing today. Iwobi link up play, quick forward passing and bringing other players into play, was missing, Ndidi quick feet off the ground to track back, covering up for the center backs was missing. Its sad but its football. So we look away from this and look forward with strong determination to redeem our image. I mentioned in an earlier post, that we must take this match as a final because I kinda had this strange feeling, something bad was going to happen going by how fans were already counting their chicks before they were harshed. FROM WHAT I HAVE COME TO KNOW ABOUT NIGERIA FOOTBALL, JUST START TO FAST AND PRAY EVERYTIME FOOTBALL FANS AND PLAYERS STARTS TO BOAST OF WHITEWASHING A TEAM. Osimhen is just a shoot-striker. He doesn’t dribble or try to beat his marker, he shoots whatever ball that comes to him. There were chances that came to him and I expected him to beat his marker before shooting but he shot right away even when he knew it will be very difficult to score from that angle. That is why Rohr keep talking about recalling Ighalo, because Ighalo knows how to outwit or beat his markers before shooting

Baba has the ability to easily beat his marker, i don’t just understand, guy, stop waiting your God given gift and play football God has made easy for you, at charleroi and lille, he wasn’t like this, though am loving the improvement in his general gameplay, but the scoring side of it seems to be depreciating

For the past 5 to 6 years, Balogun and Ekong have formed a formidable partnership in central defense, which has contributed towards many fine performances and results for Nigeria.
Today however, it was evident that cracks are finally beginning to show up on this famed wall. The aura of invincibility the wall once had is fast fading away.
The 2 of them should have dealt with a basic route one ball from the CAR half easily. Instead, the 2 Nigerian center-backs were all over the place, falling over themselves in comical fashion, thus the space opened up for Karl Namngamda to slot the ball past Uzoho and become a national hero.
Yes, the 2 of them are getting older. But they can learn from the Italians Bonucci and Chiellini, who like fine wine keep getting better with age.
While it’s easy to blame them, and I do blame them for that goal, it remains at the back of my mind that we expect these boys to do their best when their bonuses are yet unpaid. We have no moral justification to expect a worker to do his best when he is being owed.
The way the whole team approached the game today in the first half was with obvious nonchalance. Like, if the officials don’t want to appreciate our efforts by paying us, why should we stress ourselves on the pitch? The attitude changed in the second half, but they unfortunately ran out of ideas and time.
So yes, the defeat is not attributable to the Oyibo Wall alone. The whole team must bear the blame.

Rohr’s rigidity is destroying him. In an away game awaziem and omeruo did well. With what awaziem is doing today, he should just step in to that defence.
Oshimen needs to be talked to. He made us lose this match. You don’t take a shot from that distance when you should have controlled the ball and move in to the opponents area. To me he is the cause of the defeat.
He also failed to convert a clear headed gaol too. Well let us call it a bad day.
But I don’t think they can win the second match in Cameroon.
If they fail to qualify for the world cup it is their fault.

The Napoli coach has change Osihmens mode of making runs and general play to suite his philosophy. He was not like this at lille .
Bad or good
I love Nigerian fans, they will always say what’s in their mind no matter what e.g if super eagles win, ‘ha the eagles did not play well but won,’ ‘or I don’t like the way they are passing/pressing,’ or ‘Rorh substitution was late’ etc. And if the SUPER EAGLES lose,ha ‘Rorh must go,’ ‘Oyinbo wall is old,’ or ‘Osimhen Doesn’t know how to dribble’ etc.
Please sir/ma in life generally both success and failure have it’s attended lessons, in the SUPER EAGLES case the following should be noted
1. No matter the opposition, prepare well. The eagles barely had few days to prepare for this particular match
2. Always respect your opposition even if it’s rated 1000 in fifa rankings. The eagles were overconfident and they paid for it
3. Watch your opponent matches no matter the rankings, know their strong and weak point. I am sure (maybe wrong) CAR matches were not viewed by the eagles
4. Every team is beatable including the number 1 ranked team in the world and that includes the eagles
5. Take your chances when it comes the eagles did not took their chances yesterday if they did it would have been a different story altogether
6 Be considerate and focus even in defeat show true sportsmanship, shake hands lift your fellow teammates who are down encourage them and learn the lessons in such failure and move on. Truly speaking my beloved SUPER EAGLES were not ‘sportmanly’ in defeat yesterday
7. Don’t dwell too much on your loss/success. The eagles should not think too much on the defeat learn your lesson and move on. Better days are ahead
